2025 Program Overview

WINTER OVERNIGHT RETREAT  

The winter overnight retreat will focus on defining and exploring sustainable leadership principles. Participants will assess their current leadership practices, identifying habits that promote or hinder balance and well-being. Through reflection and collaboration, they will develop and commit to a specific strategy or project aimed at fostering sustainability in their personal and professional lives, ultimately enabling them to thrive as effective and balanced leaders.

Dates: February 27 - March 2, 2025 (AP Fellows - Only)
            March 1 - March 2, 2025 (Principals & AP's)
Location: The Edith Macy Conference Center

MONTHLY WORKSHOPS (ZOOM / PERSON)

The Fellowship will feature a blended learning approach with in-person meetings every other month for in-depth learning and online sessions in the intervening months for focused discussions, skill-building, and school intervisitation opportunities. This schedule ensures consistent engagement while offering flexibility and accessibility for busy professionals.

In-Person Meeting Dates:  April 8th, 2025 (Staten Island)  & June 10th, 2025 (CSA-HQ)

1/2 Day Zoom Sessions Dates: March 19th, 2025
Intervisitation Dates: May 14th, 2025 (by Project Strand) 

ONE SUMMER WELLNESS ZOOM SESSION

The one-on-one Zoom summer wellness check-in provides a brief opportunity for Fellows to connect with their coach. This check-in focuses on personal and professional well-being, project updates, summer reflections, and goal setting for the upcoming academic year. The coach will provide individual support and guidance to ensure Fellows maintain momentum and continue their journey towards sustainable and fulfilling leadership roles.

FALL 2025 OVERNIGHT RETREAT

The Fellowship will reconvene after the summer at the Kripalu Center in the Berkshires for an immersive overnight retreat in late September, shortly after the start of the school year. This retreat will provide Fellows with the opportunity to deeply explore sustainable leadership practices within a supportive and rejuvenating environment. Through a combination of workshops, reflective exercises, and peer-to-peer learning, participants will gain valuable insights into personal and professional well-being, develop strategies for creating a sustainable work-life balance, and cultivate a strong sense of community within the Fellowship.

CSA CONFERENCE & PROJECT PRESENTATIONS

The Fellowship culminates with the presentation of Fellows' sustainable leadership projects at the annual Cahn Fellowship Conference. This high-profile platform provides Fellows with the opportunity to share their impactful work with a wider audience of education leaders and receive valuable feedback and recognition for their accomplishments.
